Severe Consequences of Stress on Students in Academic, Physical and Emotional Ways

Would it surprise you to know headaches are due to excess tension in the muscles of the shoulders and neck? And that nearly all of them are to prevent with easy and moves? Yes, it really is that easy in the majority of cases. Obviously, I am not speaking about someone who just recently injured their throat in a car accident or other severe injury.

Most headaches are due to too much tension - tension from dealing with stress, poor posture, and too little movement. When you haven't figured it out by now, my belief is that almost all pain is movement related, maybe not enough or too much. Let's look at a few of the causes, starting with stress.

Your system doesn't know the difference between physical, mental, or emotional pressure. Too much tension in the brain ends up causing tension within the entire body, and vice versa. Like it or not it is true. So you need to come up with healthful methods of releasing that tension, such as joint distress motions, yoga, or tai chi, including head with your entire body, consciously feeling what's going on. Or you could take a stroll, by yourself or with someone else. Other forms of exercise may also help release extra tension. These muscles at the base of the skull have been neurologically connected to the eyes, so that a buildup of tension may be related to too much time staring at a monitor, etc.

This suboccipital hold is done as a part of the Myofascial Release work to release tension in the muscles of the shoulders and neck. I believe in working towards prevention, therefore I would suggest doing forms of extending on a regular basis, even when you are feeling alright. It's easier to prevent something than it is to fix it. Be conscious of your position and the way it can affect you. One of the keys for the neck may actually be your cervical spine - from the base of throat to wherever your lower back starts. This area often becomes too rounded with bad posture and can result in problems with your lower spine, as well as your shoulders and neck. Men and women need work with this area.
